The purpose of this course is to give people the knowledge and skills to provide safe and effective first aid treatment of injuries and illnesses in the workplace.
Course Content
Course participants will be given instructions in the following topics:
- Understand the role and responsibilities of a first aider.
- Be able to assess an incident.
- Be able to manage an unresponsive casualty who is breathing normally.
- Be able to manage an unresponsive casualty who is not breathing normally.
- Be able to recognise and assist a casualty who is choking.
- Be able to manage a casualty with external bleeding.
- Be able to manage a casualty who is in shock.
- Be able to manage a casualty with a minor injury.

Course Objectives
Candidates will be able to:
- Understand their role and responsibilities as a First Aider
- Conduct safe and effective First Aid
- Perform CPR.
- Identify various injuries and illnesses as well as provide the necessary treatment.
- Deliver appropriate after care.
